Implementing Technology to Keep a Schedule Organized
Technology is advancing faster than ever before. Fifteen years ago, it was a futuristic notion that everyone would own cellular telephones. Today, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t currently have a cell phone. Half the people I know, myself included, have smartphones. Smartphones are like a combination of PDAs and cell phones. With all these devices and programs in our day to day lives, there’s no reason we can’t use them to our advantage, especially with time management. I use my smartphone for everything, especially with keeping my schedule. I use the calendar feature to keep track of bill due dates, doctor appointments, and pay days. I can also set my timer to make sure I remember to take my dinner out of the oven before it burns. Anyone can organize their schedule easily with the help of a smartphone.
Since most of us already have cell phones, we should be using these devices to their maximum capacity. Our cell phones are always within arm’s reach. Setting audible alarms is the best way to have the cell phone grab our attention and direct us to complete our current task and move on to the next. A shrill beep will even wake you out of an unscheduled nap.
There is no longer any excuse to be late. Our friends can call us, we can set reminders, and we can always know what time it is. Some of you may be clinging to the old paper agenda system. There is a better way. Start looking though the available applications in the marketplace on your smartphone or on the website of your cellular service provider. I know you’ll be amazed to find how many applications there really are for scheduling. Technology is available to help keep you on time, so start using it!
